Scopo di questo lavoro in vitro è quello di confrontare la citotossicità di 4 tipi di resine per basi protesiche: Paladon 65 powder (termopolimerizzabile) (Heraeus Kulzer, Germany) (resina A); Lucitone 199 powder (termopolimerizzabile) (Dentsply/Trubyte Division, USA) (resina B), Vertex Self curing (autopolimerizzabile) (Vertex Dental, Netherland) (resina C), Eclipse Denture Base Resin (fotopolimerizzabile) (Dentsply/Trubyte Division, USA) (resina D). The aim of this study was to evaluate the level of edentulousness and the prosthetic treatment need in a sample of the over 18-year-old inhabitants of Palermo (Italy). A stratified sample of 385 subjects (183 female and 202 male) was taken to represent the population of the city. Each subject included in the study was examined to record the level of edentulousness (complete edentulousness, partial edentulousness, intact dentition) and the level of denture wearing. Requirement for repair of dentures was recorded according to the marginal fitting for fixed dentures, and to the extension, stability and retention for removable dentures. Nel presente lavoro si esamina la possibilità di impiego di tecniche di correlazione digitale di immagini in configurazione stereoscopica per la valutazione sperimentale in-vitro del campo tridimensionale di spostamento e deformazione generato sottocarico sull’osso trattato con un impianto di sintesi intramidollare. L’inserimento di una rima di frattura praticata sulla diafisi media dell’osso sintetico, ha consentito di studiare il differente comportamento nelle due condizioni limite del decorso clinico a seguito del trattamento chirurgico di impianto. ABSTRACT. We report a technique for the solution of an intraoperative complication occurred during penile prosthetic surgery. MATERIALS AND METHODS. A 70-year-old patient underwent open radical retropubic prostatectomy in 2004 due to a prostate cancer - Gleason 6 (3+3) pT2N0M0. The erectile dysfunction subsequently observed was not responsive to oral or intracavernosal drug administration, so a malleable penile implant surgery was recommended. RESULTS. During the positioning of the left penile cylinder, a septum perforation (cross-over) occurred. Introduction and Objectives. We treated a 45 years old patient, suffering from diabetes mellitus since childhood, with retinal, neurovascular and kidney complications. In 1988, for erectile dysfunction (ED) resistant to medical injective treatment, the patient underwent ligation of the dorsal vein of the penis without any result. In 1989 a Flexiflate® hydraulic prosthesis was implanted with resolution of ED. In 2005 the patient underwent simultaneous kidney and pancreas transplant with a trans-laparotomic approach for end stage renal disease and diabetes mellitus.
